Compact 1U dual-processor server

The Dell PowerEdge R650xs is a 1U rack server built for dense compute environments. Two Intel Xeon Silver 4314 processors provide 32 total cores at 2.4 GHz with 3.4 GHz turbo. 256 GB of DDR4 2666 MHz registered ECC memory is installed across eight 32 GB modules. Eight 960 GB SATA SSDs and a PERC H745 controller with 4 GB NV cache deliver high-throughput storage in a single rack unit.

Build integration and expansion

The chassis accepts up to two LGA 4189 processors and supports 1 TB maximum memory capacity across 16 DDR4 slots. Eight 2.5-inch drive bays connect to the H745 RAID controller supporting RAID 0, 1, 5, 6, 10, 50 and 60. A Broadcom 5720 quad-port 1 GbE OCP 3.0 network card occupies one OCP slot. Dual 1400 W hot-swap power supplies and ready rails with bezel are included for immediate rack deployment.

Sustained-load behaviour

Platinum-efficiency redundant power supplies maintain stable delivery during continuous multi-core workloads. The PERC H745 battery-backed cache protects write data during extended operations. iDRAC9 Enterprise enables remote monitoring and firmware updates without host downtime. The 1U form factor limits GPU acceleration options compared to larger chassis.
