The Dell PowerEdge R730XD arrives with dual eight-core Xeon E5-2630v3 processors at 2.4 GHz, 16 GB of DDR4 memory, three 4 TB 7.2K SAS drives and a Perc H730 RAID controller supporting RAID 0/1/5/6/10/50/60. It targets IT teams who need dense 3.5-inch storage in a 2U form factor without waiting for a custom build.

Check power, rails and network before ordering

The chassis includes two 750 W redundant hot-swap power supplies and a DVD-ROM drive. Verify that your rack provides suitable square-hole or threaded rails for a 2U unit, that PDU cords match the supply inlets and that the four-port 1 GbE daughter card meets your current network topology. Optional 10 GbE NDC cards are not included.

Fits standard racks, frees PCIe slots for growth

Up to twelve 3.5-inch hot-plug bays allow expansion to 52 TB raw capacity using SAS or SATA drives. Six PCIe 3.0 slots plus a dedicated RAID slot remain open for additional controllers, NICs or accelerators. Twenty-four DDR4 DIMM slots support up to 1536 GB total memory when the budget allows. iDRAC8 Express provides out-of-band management from day one.
