The PowerEdge R730xd fits two Xeon E5-2699 v3 processors and 128 GB of DDR4 ECC memory into a 2U rack chassis. Twenty-four 2.5-inch drive bays hold 2.4 TB SAS disks each, giving a single system both high core count and large local capacity. It targets databases, virtual desktop infrastructure and data-intensive analytics that need throughput and storage in one box.

Sustained multi-threaded throughput

Dual 18-core CPUs run at 2.3 GHz with a 3.6 GHz turbo ceiling, feeding the PERC H730 controller with steady I/O across 24 drives. The 12Gb/s SAS backplane and 1 GB controller cache keep write latency predictable during long batch jobs or heavy VDI login storms. Redundant 750 W platinum supplies maintain power delivery without throttling when all cores and disks are active.

Serviceable rack integration

Hot-swap power supplies and tool-less rails let technicians swap components without pulling the server from the rack.
