The Dell EMC PowerEdge R740 arrives with dual Intel Gold 6126 processors, twelve cores each at 2.6 GHz, and 128 GB of DDR4 memory in eight 16 GB modules. Four 800 GB SAS SSDs are pre-configured on an H730P RAID controller. The 2U chassis fits standard 19-inch racks and includes bezel, rails and power cords for immediate installation.

Expansion headroom and redundant power

Eight 2.5-inch drive bays leave four slots open for additional SAS storage. Up to eight PCIe Gen 3 slots accept extra network, GPU or storage adapters. Dual 1100 W redundant power supplies maintain uptime if one unit fails. Integrated iDRAC9 Enterprise provides remote console, virtual media and lifecycle management over a dedicated port.
