The Dell PowerEdge R740 is a dual-socket rack server equipped with two Intel Xeon Gold 6148 processors, each delivering 20 cores at 2.4 GHz with a 3.7 GHz turbo frequency. It ships with 768 GB of DDR4 registered ECC memory across 24 slots and a PERC H730P controller managing eight 1.2 TB 10K SAS drives. Quad-port networking combines two 1 GbE and two 10 Gb SFP+ links, while dual 750 W platinum power supplies and iDRAC9 Enterprise provide redundancy and remote management in a 2U chassis with rails and bezel included.

Suited for virtualisation and database workloads
