The Dell PowerEdge R740 is a 2U rack server fitted with two Intel Xeon Silver 4116 processors, each running at 2.1 GHz with 12 cores. It ships with 128 GB of DDR4 registered ECC memory across eight 16 GB modules. The system targets workloads that need high core counts and large memory capacity in a compact rack footprint.

Storage and networking ready

Eight 2.5-inch drive bays are populated with 2.4 TB 10 K SAS hard drives connected to a PERC H730P controller with 2 GB cache and battery backup.
