Replaces older 2U platforms needing more cores

The dual 14-core configuration delivers a substantial thread count increase over earlier dual-socket servers limited to lower core counts. Integrated Intel X550 networking adds two 10 Gb RJ45 ports alongside two 1 Gb ports, removing the need for separate NICs when upgrading 1 Gb-only infrastructure. The jump is worth it when workloads demand higher parallelism and 10 Gb connectivity without consuming PCIe slots.

Fits standard racks and frees PCIe slots
