The Dell PowerEdge T430 is a 5U rack-mount system built around two Intel Xeon E5-2620 v4 processors running at 2.10 GHz with a 3.0 GHz turbo. It ships with 384 GB of DDR4 2133 MHz registered ECC memory across twelve slots and includes a PERC H730 controller with 1 GB cache supporting RAID 0, 1, 5, 6, 10, 50, 60 and pass-through. Eight 3.5-inch SAS/SATA drive trays are fitted, but no drives are installed. Dual 750 W platinum power supplies and iDRAC 8 Express remote management complete the package.

Two hot-swap 750 W platinum-efficiency power supplies provide full redundancy, so a single unit failure does not interrupt operation. The 5U chassis uses front-to-rear cooling with the bezel installed, drawing cool air through the drive bay area and exhausting it at the rear. Under typical office loads the fans run at low speed, keeping acoustic output suitable for a quiet office or branch location. Power draw scales with CPU utilisation and the number of drives populated, but the platinum-rated units maintain high efficiency across the load range.

Maximum memory is fixed at 384 GB across twelve

The system reaches its architectural ceiling with the 384 GB already installed, leaving no headroom for future expansion. Buyers who anticipate memory growth beyond this limit will need a different platform. The twelve DIMM slots are fully populated with 32 GB modules, so any upgrade would require replacing existing sticks rather than adding new ones.
