Dual 12-core Xeon tower server

The Dell PowerEdge T430 is a 5U tower server fitted with two Intel Xeon E5-2650 v4 processors running at 2.2 GHz with a 2.9 GHz turbo. Twelve cores per CPU deliver 24 threads for virtualization, databases and business-critical workloads. Thirty-two gigabytes of DDR4-2400 ECC registered memory are installed across four slots. The system includes a PERC H730P 2 GB controller and four 1.92 TB SATA SSDs.

Check power, rails and memory headroom

Two 750 watt platinum redundant hot-swap power supplies are installed; verify that your PDU cables match the inlet type. The front bezel and ready rails are not included, so plan for rack mounting or desktop clearance separately. Twelve DIMM slots support up to 384 GB of DDR4 ECC registered memory; populate remaining slots in matched sets for best performance.

RAID controller and iDRAC simplify storage

The H730P battery-backed controller enables RAID 0, 1, 5, 6, 10, 50 and 60 plus pass-through mode for the four installed SSDs and any future drives. Integrated iDRAC 8 Express provides out-of-band remote management, firmware updates and console redirection without a dedicated KVM. Dual embedded gigabit Ethernet ports handle management and workload traffic on separate networks if desired.
