Dual-socket Xeon tower for virtualization

The Dell PowerEdge T430 is a 5U tower server that can be converted to rack mount. Two Intel Xeon E5-2695 v4 processors run at 2.1 GHz with a 3.3 GHz turbo frequency. Sixteen gigabytes of DDR4-2400 ECC registered memory are installed across two slots. A PERC HBA330 controller manages four 960 GB SATA SSDs in the front bays. Dual 750 W platinum power supplies provide redundancy.

This configuration fits small-to-mid virtualization hosts, database instances or file servers that benefit from dual-socket compute and hot-swap SATA storage. iDRAC 8 Express gives remote management without extra licensing. Storage is handled by a Dell PERC HBA330 12 Gb/s SAS/SATA controller connected to four enterprise 960 GB SATA 6 Gb/s 2.5-inch solid-state drives. The server offers sixteen 2.5-inch hot-swap bays in total, leaving twelve empty bays for expansion. The HBA330 presents drives in JBOD or pass-through mode, so software-defined storage or OS-level RAID is required.
