Dual 18-core Xeon 5U server

This Dell PowerEdge T430 is a 5U rack server fitted with two Intel Xeon E5-2695 v4 processors, each running at 2.1 GHz with 3.3 GHz turbo across 18 cores. It ships with 32 GB of DDR4 ECC registered memory installed across twelve slots and a PERC H730P 2 GB storage controller supporting RAID 0, 1, 5, 6, 10, 50 and 60. The chassis provides sixteen 2.5-inch hot-swap bays, eight trays included, dual gigabit Ethernet, iDRAC 8 Express remote management and redundant 750 W platinum power supplies.

Sixteen 2.5-inch hot-swap bays

The defining specification is the sixteen-bay 2.5-inch hot-swap backplane that accepts SAS, SATA and SSD drives in any mix. Eight trays are supplied so you can populate half the slots immediately and add the rest later without downtime. The PERC H730P controller handles all supported RAID levels and pass-through mode, giving full flexibility for capacity, redundancy or raw throughput depending on the workload.

32 GB DDR4 expandable to 384 GB

The system arrives with 32 GB of DDR4-2400 ECC registered memory in four 8 GB modules, leaving eight slots free for expansion up to the platform maximum of 384 GB. This headroom comfortably covers moderate virtualization clusters, database instances and file services, while the twelve-slot ceiling means very large memory footprints will require higher-density modules rather than additional slots.
