The Dell PowerEdge T440 is a 5U tower server that supports two Intel Xeon Silver 4210 processors running at 2.2 GHz with a 3.2 GHz turbo. It ships with 128 GB of DDR4-2400 ECC registered memory across four 32 GB modules and a PERC H730P 2 GB storage controller. Four 1.92 TB SATA SSDs occupy four of the sixteen 2.5-inch hot-swap bays, leaving twelve bays open for additional SAS or SATA drives.

Upgrade path from single-socket

Moving from a single-processor platform or a chassis with fewer drive bays adds the second Silver 4210 for twenty total cores and expands raw capacity to sixteen 2.5-inch slots. Redundant hot-plug 750 W platinum power supplies and hot-swap drive carriers simplify hardware changes without downtime. iDRAC 9 Express provides out-of-band remote management for firmware updates and console access. Buyers who need the front bezel or ready rails should source those separately, and the twelve empty bays require additional drives to reach full capacity.
