The Dell PowerEdge T440 is a 5U tower server built for virtualization, database hosting, and software-defined storage. It ships with two Intel Xeon Gold 5120 processors, each running at 2.2GHz with a 3.2GHz turbo frequency and 14 cores. The system includes 128GB of DDR4-2400 ECC registered memory across four 32GB modules. A Dell PERC H730P controller with 2GB cache manages the storage array.

Sustained load with redundant power and cooling

Dual 750W platinum-efficiency power supplies provide redundant hot-swap power for continuous operation. The 16-bay 2.5-inch chassis supports SAS, SATA, and SSD drives for high-capacity storage pools. The H730P controller handles RAID 0, 1, 5, 6, 10, 50, and 60 with battery-backed cache to protect data during write operations. iDRAC 9 Express enables remote monitoring and firmware updates without physical access.

Check processor limit and drive tray count

The LGA 3647 socket supports a maximum of two processors, and both sockets are already populated. Memory capacity reaches 1TB across 16 DDR4 slots, leaving 12 slots open for expansion. Only eight 2.5-inch drive trays are included, so additional trays are required to populate all 16 bays. Front bezel and ready rails are not included and must be sourced separately for rack mounting.
