This five-metre OM3 multimode fibre patch cable uses LC to SC duplex connectors and a 3.0 mm PVC jacket. It is built for 10 Gbps links at 850 nm in switches, servers and data-centre racks. The ceramic ferrules give a typical insertion loss of 0.2 dB and a maximum of 0.3 dB with return loss above 38 dB.
Duplex LC-SC connectors and OM3 core
The duplex LC-SC ends connect transceivers with different interface types without an adapter, while the OM3 10-gigabit core supports 1 Gbps, 10 Gbps and 40 Gbps Ethernet over multimode fibre. A 330 mm minimum bend radius and 1000 mating cycles let the cable survive dense patch-panel routing and repeated re-patching.
10 Gbps OM3 bandwidth rating
The OM3 10-gigabit core rating is the single figure that decides whether the cable matches the link speed you need; if your link runs at 10 Gbps or below over 850 nm multimode, this cable meets the requirement, but it will not serve single-mode or longer-reach applications.
