Four USB-C ports via PCI Express
The ESTONE PCIE24C adds four external USB Type-C connectors to a desktop or server through a single PCI Express x4 lane. It uses an ASM3142 controller to deliver USB 3.2 transfer rates of up to 10 Gbps per port. The card fits x1, x4, x8 or x16 slots and works with Windows 7 through 11, macOS 10.8.2 and later, and Linux.
Upgrades systems with limited rear I/O
This card replaces the need for external hubs when a motherboard lacks enough high-speed USB ports. The jump is worth it when moving large files or editing high-resolution media on external storage, because the 10 Gbps link is twenty times faster than USB 2.0. It does not support DisplayPort Alt Mode or USB Power Delivery, so buyers who need video output or higher charging power should look elsewhere.
Driver install then seat the card
Most modern operating systems install the driver automatically; Windows 7 and XP require the supplied CD. An optional SATA power connector can supply up to 15 W per port when the slot alone cannot deliver enough current. PCI Express 1.0 slots are not supported, so verify the motherboard provides at least PCIe 2.0 before purchasing.
