The Google Nest Temperature Sensor (2nd Gen) is a wireless device that measures room temperature and sends readings to a compatible Nest thermostat. It is designed for homeowners who want to balance heating and cooling across multiple rooms using the Google Home app. The sensor runs on an included CR2 lithium battery and mounts on a wall or sits on a shelf.

Bluetooth connectivity and thermostat compatibility

The sensor communicates via Bluetooth and works with the Nest Learning Thermostat (4th gen), Nest Learning Thermostat (3rd gen), and Nest Thermostat E. Pairing is handled in the Google Home app, and the battery is rated to last up to 3 years. Up to six sensors can be linked to one thermostat system for prioritised or averaged temperature control.
