Indoor 6MP dome camera with motorised varifocal

The Hanwha Techwin XND-8082RV is a new indoor dome network camera that captures up to 6MP at 3328x1872 resolution. It uses a 1/2.8" progressive CMOS sensor and a 2.8-8.4mm motorised varifocal lens with DC Auto Iris and P iris control. The camera supports H.265, H.264 and MJPEG compression at up to 30fps. Integrated IR LEDs provide night vision up to 40m. It is designed for professional indoor surveillance installations.

PoE cabling and network readiness

Before ordering, verify that your network infrastructure provides a metal-shielded RJ-45 connection capable of 10/100/1000BASE-T speeds. The camera draws a maximum of 12.95W via PoE, 11.5W at 12VDC or 13.5W at 24VAC, with power redundancy failover support. Ensure your recorder or VMS supports the listed protocols including IPv4, IPv6, RTSP, HTTPS and ONVIF-compatible streaming. Confirm the operating environment stays within -50°C to +60°C and 0-95% RH non-condensing.

Upgrade from fixed-lens or lower-resolution domes

This model replaces fixed-lens indoor domes where adjustable field of view is needed, covering pan 0°-360°, tilt -45°-85° and rotate 0°-355° ranges. The jump is worthwhile when you require 6MP detail at 30fps with extreme WDR of 120dB and built-in gyro-based DIS. Integrated analytics such as defocus, directional, audio, shock and face/upper body detection add value over basic motion-triggered recording. It is not suited for outdoor mounting without a separate housing or for installations needing longer than 40m IR range.
