The HP 17 is a new 17.3 inch touchscreen laptop built around an Intel N100 processor with four cores and four threads reaching 3.4 GHz. It comes with 4GB of DDR4 memory and a 256GB PCIe NVMe SSD, running Windows 11 Home in S-Mode. The integrated Intel UHD graphics drive a TN panel at 1600 x 900 resolution and 60 Hz, suited for web browsing, document work and video playback.

The 4GB of DDR4 SODIMM is soldered or single-channel and not listed as upgradeable, so multitasking headroom is fixed. Windows 11 Home S-Mode restricts app installs to the Microsoft Store unless you switch out of S-Mode, which is a one-way change. Verify that your workflow runs within these constraints and that the 256GB NVMe capacity covers your local storage needs.

Cloud Blue chassis with fingerprint and wireless

The Cloud Blue lid and deck house a backlit keyboard, fingerprint reader and 720p webcam above the touchscreen. Ports include two USB 3.0 Type-A, one USB 3.1 Type-C, HDMI and a combo audio jack. Wireless uses WiFi 6 and Bluetooth 5.4. A 45W adapter charges the 3-cell 41 Whr battery inside the 10.25 x 15.75 x 0.9 inch frame weighing 4.7lb, and a Dockztorm wireless mouse is bundled.
