The HP ProLiant DL360 Gen9 fits two Xeon E5-2670v3 processors and 32 GB of DDR4 memory into a single rack unit. It is built for environments that need high core density without sacrificing expansion slots or storage bays. The platform supports up to 36 total cores across the processor family.

Redundant power and flexible drive bays

Dual 500 W hot-swap power supplies keep the system running if one unit fails. Four large-form-factor 3.5-inch bays hold the included 1 TB SAS drives, while the Smart HBA H240ar controller manages RAID 0, 1, 5, 6, 10, 50 and 60 across 12 Gb SAS and 6 Gb SATA links. Twenty-four DIMM slots allow memory to grow with the workload.

Upgrade from single-socket or smaller chassis

Moving from a single-processor tower or a half-depth rack box adds a second CPU, doubling thread count to 48 with hyper-threading and raising the memory ceiling to 3 TB. The jump makes sense when virtualisation density, database threading or compute-heavy batch jobs outgrow the current platform.
