2U rack server with single Xeon E5-2630 v3

The HP ProLiant DL380 Gen9 is a 2U rack server equipped with one eight-core Intel Xeon E5-2630 v3 processor running at 2.4GHz and 64GB of DDR4 ECC registered memory. It includes a Smart HBA H240ar controller and two 600GB 15K SAS drives installed in the front bays. The system ships without an operating system.

12 LFF bays and 24 DIMM slots

Twelve 3.5-inch large-form-factor drive bays provide internal storage capacity, while the H240ar controller supports RAID 0, 1, 5, 6, 10, 50 and 60 across SAS and SATA drives. Memory expansion uses 24 DIMM slots, twelve per processor socket, accepting DDR4 modules up to 2400MT/s; the installed 64GB already reaches the single-processor maximum.

Single processor limits memory to 64GB

With only one CPU installed, the memory controller can address a maximum of 64GB across the twelve active slots, so no further RAM can be added unless a second processor is fitted. Buyers who need more memory capacity must add the second processor and populate its twelve slots. This server is not for workloads that require larger memory footprints on a single socket.
