The HP ProLiant DL380 Gen9 fits a 2U rack slot and ships with a single Intel Xeon E5-2609 v3 six-core processor at 1.9 GHz. Four gigabytes of DDR4 ECC memory and two 1 TB 7.2 K SAS drives are installed, while the Smart Array P440 controller with 4 GB FBWC handles RAID 0, 1, 5, 6, 10, 50 and 60. Dual 500 W hot-swap supplies provide redundant power for continuous operation.

Expand inside the chassis

Sixteen 2.5-inch SFF bays accept additional SAS drives, and a second processor socket supports another E5-2600 v3 or v4 CPU for up to 36 total cores. Twenty-four DDR4 DIMM slots allow memory growth to 3 TB using registered ECC modules up to 2400 MT/s.
