This 2U rack server ships with a single Intel Xeon E5-2630 v3 eight-core processor running at 2.4GHz and 8GB of DDR4 ECC memory. It targets organisations that need a dense, redundant platform for virtualisation, database or general compute workloads in a standard rack. The chassis supports a second processor and up to 24 DIMM slots for future growth. Buyers who need GPU acceleration or NVMe boot drives should look elsewhere.

Redundant power and flexible drive bays

Dual hot-swap 500W power supplies provide N+1 redundancy without shutting down for maintenance. The front panel holds eight 2.5-inch SAS bays populated with two 1.8TB 7.2K drives on a Smart HBA H240ar controller that supports RAID 0, 1, 5, 6, 10, 50 and 60. Optional universal media bay or additional SFF cages can be added to the remaining bay positions for expanded capacity. The Matrox G200eH2 graphics controller handles basic console output only.

H240ar controller and included drive trays

The bundled Smart HBA H240ar delivers 12Gbps SAS and 6Gbps SATA connectivity with hardware RAID offload, reducing CPU overhead for storage tasks. Both 1.8TB drives ship mounted in carrier trays so they install immediately without extra hardware. No operating system is included, allowing the installer to deploy the preferred hypervisor or OS image. Memory speed will operate up to 2400MT/s depending on the final processor configuration.
