HP Z6 G4 Workstation for Professional Compute

The HP Z6 G4 is a new tower workstation built around an Intel Xeon Bronze 3106 processor running at 1.7 GHz with eight cores and eight threads. It ships with 32 GB of DDR4 ECC memory and a 256 GB NVMe solid-state drive paired with a 1 TB hard drive. The Nvidia NVS510 graphics card provides 2 GB of video memory and supports up to four monitors for multi-display workflows.

Expansion Limits of the PCIe 3.0 Platform

The motherboard provides two full-length PCIe 3.0 x16 slots, one x8 slot and three x4 slots, all operating at the 3.0 signalling rate. Six DDR4 memory sockets are available, so the current 32 GB can be increased within the platform’s maximum capacity. Front-panel connectivity includes four USB 2.0 ports, while the rear adds six USB 3.0 ports and dual RJ45 network connections.

Upgrade from Single-Monitor Entry Systems

This workstation replaces older desktops that only drive one or two displays and lack ECC memory protection. The four-monitor NVS510 output and 1000 W power supply enable a direct step up for financial modelling, multi-application monitoring or CAD review without changing infrastructure.
