The HPE DL380 Gen9 24SFF chassis fits up to twenty-four 2.5-inch drive bays in a 2U rack footprint. One Intel Xeon E5-2699 v4 running at 2.2 GHz delivers twenty-two cores with 55 MB cache. The system ships with 192 GB of DDR4 ECC registered memory and an HP Smart Array P440ar controller plus SAS expander.

Suited to virtualisation hosts needing maximum

This configuration targets workloads that benefit from many small SAS drives and high core counts per socket. Organisations requiring a second processor, GPU acceleration, or fibre-channel connectivity will need a different platform. The single-CPU layout also limits total memory expansion to half the 3 TB maximum.
