The Smart Array P408 SAS controller manages up to eight 2.5-inch drive bays, though no drives are included in this configuration.

Dual 500 W Flex Slot power supplies deliver redundancy for continuous operation in dense rack environments. The integrated Intel I350 and X540 network adapters provide two 10 GbE and two 1 GbE ports for steady throughput. HPE iLO Advanced remote management allows firmware updates, monitoring and power control without physical access, supporting long-running workloads.

Pre-deployment checklist

Verify that your rack provides 36 x 24 x 10 inches of clearance and can accommodate a 40-pound unit. Confirm that the SAS or SATA drives you plan to install match the P408 controller and the 2.5-inch bay format.
