The 20 MB L2 cache and 9.5 MB L3 cache feed the cores to reduce memory latency. Heavy all-core loads will eventually hit the power limit and throttle clocks.

The PGA LGA1700 socket fits Intel 600-series and 700-series chipset motherboards, with a potential BIOS update for the former.
