KEHIPI

KEHIPI Day-Night Camera OV5647 5MP 1080P M12 Lens

SKU CH-VAZM-MK20X

5MP OV5647 Raspberry Pi camera with automatic IR-cut switching, IR-corrected 2.25 mm M12 lens, 130° diagonal view and built-in IR LED illuminator for day and night imaging

  • Automatic IR-cut switching keeps daytime colours true and enables night vision
  • IR-corrected 2.25 mm lens reduces focus shift across wavelengths
  • Built-in IR LED illuminator activates in low light for clearer night images
  • 5 MP OV5647 sensor records 1080p at 30 fps, 720p at 60 fps, 480p at 90 fps
  • Works with Raspberry Pi Zero, 3, 4 and 5 using standard camera commands

Day-Night Camera for Raspberry Pi

The KEHIPI module adds automatic IR-cut switching to any Raspberry Pi board from the original Model B through to the Pi 5 and Pi Zero. It uses the OV5647 5 MP sensor to capture 1080p video at 30 fps or 720p at 60 fps for smooth motion recording. The board is aimed at makers building home security, wildlife monitoring or time-lapse projects that must run around the clock.

Automatic IR Cut and IR Illumination

A built-in light sensor drives the IR-cut filter into place for accurate daytime colour and retracts it when light falls, activating the onboard IR LEDs for night vision. Two heatsinks are supplied for the LED board to manage thermal load during extended dark-period operation. The M12 lens mount accepts interchangeable lenses and a ribbon cable for Pi Zero is included in the package.

5 MP OV5647 Sensor at 1080p 30 fps

The sensor delivers a maximum still resolution of 2592 × 1944 pixels and supports 1080p at 30 fps, 720p at 60 fps and 480p at 90 fps video modes. The fixed 2.25 mm focal length provides a 130° diagonal field of view that can be focused by screwing the lens. Projects that require higher resolution, global shutter or autofocus will need a different sensor module.

Fragen zu diesem Artikel

How does the automatic IR-cut filter switch between day and night modes?

The filter engages in daylight for accurate colour and retracts when the light sensor detects low light, activating the IR LEDs for night vision.

What mounting hardware is required for the M12 lens and IR LED board?

The M12 lens screws directly into the module for focus adjustment; two heat sinks are supplied for the IR LED board and a ribbon cable is included for Pi Zero.

How is the camera connected to a Raspberry Pi and which step is often missed?

Insert the ribbon cable into the Pi CSI port with the contacts facing the correct orientation; the common mistake is seating the cable upside down or not enabling the camera in raspi-config.
