U.2 NVMe Adapter for M.2 Slots

This adapter lets you install a U.2 NVMe SSD into a motherboard M.2 2280 M key slot. It targets builders and server operators who want enterprise-grade U.2 storage without a dedicated backplane. PCIe 4.0 Link with SATA Power

The adapter runs at PCIe 4.0 speeds with a theoretical maximum of 64 Gbps and remains backward compatible with PCIe 3.0, 2.0 and 1.0 devices. A 15-pin SATA power connection is mandatory for the U.2 drive to function. The passive design adds no active cooling or noise, drawing only the drive's own power through the SATA lead.

Replaces Direct M.2 Mounting

This cable replaces a direct M.2 slot installation when the board lacks space or when a U.2 drive is preferred for its capacity or endurance. The jump is worth it if you need to run a U.2 NVMe SSD from an M.2 interface and can supply SATA power. It does not suit builds without a free M.2 M key slot or an available SATA power connector.
