Four USB 3.2 Gen1 ports with backward compatibility

The card delivers four ports that run at USB 3.2 Gen1 speeds and remain compatible with USB 3.0, 2.0 and 1.1 devices. Power can be drawn from the PCIe 12 V rail or from an onboard 12 V DC header, giving flexibility for different carrier boards. Bandwidth is shared across the four ports, so simultaneous heavy transfers will contend for the single PCIe lane.

Upgrades the CM4 IO Board's native USB count

The CM4 IO Board provides only one native USB 2.0 port; this adapter expands that to four USB 3.2 Gen1 ports for cameras, SSDs or debug tools. The jump is worthwhile when a project needs multiple high-speed devices or when the single native port is already occupied. It is not suited for builds that require more than four ports or that lack a free PCIe slot and 12 V supply.
