192GB DDR4 ECC RDIMM kit for Thinkmate workstations

This 192GB kit contains six 32GB registered DDR4 modules running at 3200 MT/s with CL22 latency and 1.20V operation. It targets Thinkmate GPX-WS-540RTP, GPX-WS-740RTP and GPX-WS-760S1 workstations that require ECC registered memory for error correction. The dual-rank 2Rx8 organisation suits multi-socket server boards that support high-capacity RDIMM populations.

Upgrade path from lower-capacity or non-ECC DDR4

The kit replaces smaller DDR4 RDIMM sets or non-ECC unbuffered modules when the workload demands registered ECC memory and 192GB total capacity. The jump is worth it when applications such as virtualisation, database hosting or scientific computing exceed the current memory ceiling and the motherboard qualifies 32GB dual-rank RDIMMs at 3200 MT/s. It does not suit systems limited to unbuffered UDIMMs or to speeds below DDR4 3200.

Tool-free DIMM installation

Installation follows the standard 288-pin RDIMM procedure: power down, open the chassis, align the key notch and press each module until the retention clips latch. No heat spreader is fitted, so clearance is minimal. The usual risk is mixing registered ECC RDIMMs with unbuffered memory or populating slots in an order the workstation manual does not endorse, which can prevent boot or disable ECC.
