This 8 GB DDR4 2666 ECC SODIMM is built for Synology RackStation RS1221+ and RS1221RP+ NAS units. It targets administrators who need to expand memory capacity for virtualization, container workloads or heavy file-service demands. The unbuffered ECC design protects data integrity in always-on storage environments. It is not suited for desktop PCs or laptops that require non-ECC memory.

DDR4 2666 PC4-21300 CL19 Specification

The module runs at DDR4 2666 (PC4-21300) with a CAS latency of CL19 and operates at 1.20 V. It uses a 1Rx8 organisation on a 260-pin SODIMM form factor with Samsung, Micron or Hynix chips. This exact speed, voltage and rank combination is the deciding factor for RS1221+ compatibility; systems requiring a different DDR4 speed, registered DIMMs or non-ECC modules will not accept this part.

Low-Power Unbuffered Operation

At 1.20 V the stick draws minimal power and generates little heat inside the dense NAS chassis. No heat spreader is fitted, relying on the system’s internal airflow for passive cooling. The unbuffered ECC design adds no active components, so acoustic impact is zero and thermal load stays low during continuous operation.
