Three-pin voltage control limits speed adjustment

The three-wire interface reports RPM to the motherboard but regulates speed by varying voltage, not PWM. Fan curves therefore step in larger increments and the minimum speed is higher than on four-pin headers. Headers that only supply a fixed 12 V will run the blower at full speed continuously.

Check header pin count
