This Orico enclosure turns a single M.2 SATA solid-state drive into a portable USB-C storage device. The all-aluminium shell acts as a heatsink with CNC-cut fins that increase surface area for passive cooling. A 2-in-1 cable provides both USB-C to USB-A and USB-C to USB-C connections in one lead. It is built for drives with B-key or B+M-key connectors in four standard lengths.

Suits users moving a SATA M.2 drive between machines

The enclosure accepts 2230, 2242, 2260 and 2280 form factors and exposes the SATA 6 Gbps link through a USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-C port. Theoretical throughput reaches 550 MB/s, matching the native SATA ceiling. It will not work with NVMe or PCIe AHCI M.2 modules, so buyers needing to repurpose those drives should look elsewhere. The single-bay design also means only one SSD can be housed at a time.

Limited to M.2 SATA protocol only

The decisive specification is the protocol restriction: this enclosure supports M.2 SATA B-key and B+M-key SSDs and explicitly excludes NVMe and PCIe AHCI devices. If the drive you intend to use communicates over PCIe lanes rather than the SATA bus, this product will not recognise it.
