64GB DDR3 ECC Registered Kit

This OWC kit supplies 64GB of DDR3 1333 ECC registered memory in four 16GB modules. It is built for Dell PowerEdge R920, T410, T610 and T710 servers that require registered DIMMs with error correction. The modules will not work in standard desktop computers or alongside unbuffered memory.

JEDEC 1.5V 240-pin RDIMM

Each module uses a 240-pin RDIMM form factor at 1.5 volts and meets JEDEC PC3-10600 CL9 timing. The registered design adds a buffer that stabilises the memory bus in multi-socket server boards, while ECC detects and corrects single-bit errors during operation. No heat spreader is fitted, so airflow in the server chassis handles cooling directly.

Replaces lower-capacity RDIMMs

The 16GB-per-module density lets administrators reach 64GB with only four slots, freeing remaining slots for future expansion. It is a direct upgrade for systems running smaller registered DIMMs and avoids the incompatibility of mixing registered with unbuffered memory. Buyers who need unbuffered ECC or non-ECC desktop memory cannot use this kit.
