Its single-rank 2Rx8 organisation leaves a second slot free on dual-channel boards, allowing a matched pair to be added later if the chassis provides two sockets.

Under continuous workloads the module maintains its rated CL11 timings at 1600 MT/s without throttling, because the low-voltage DDR3L design keeps thermal output modest in the tight confines of an ultrabook.
