The Panasonic Toughbook CF-54 is a new semi-rugged notebook built for professionals who operate outdoors or in industrial environments. It runs Windows 10 Pro on an Intel Core i5-5300U processor clocked at 2.3 GHz with 8 GB of memory and a 2 TB SSD. Integrated GPS, a smartcard reader and a fingerprint sensor support mobile security workflows. A digitiser pen is included for direct screen input.

MIL-STD-810G IP65 chassis with Fischer USB

The magnesium-alloy frame meets MIL-STD-810G and MIL-STD-461F shock, vibration and EMI standards plus IP65 dust and water resistance. A sealed Fischer USB port survives repeated mating cycles in dirty conditions. Four standard USB ports, gigabit LAN, 802.11a/b/g/n Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 4.1 handle peripheral and network connections. The non-touch HD panel resists glare while the spill-resistant keyboard drains liquid away from components.

Single-core i5-5300U limits heavy compute

The processor is a single-core design with Intel HD Graphics 5500, so multi-threaded workloads such as video encoding or large dataset analysis will run slowly. Memory tops out at 16 GB and the display is fixed at 1366 x 768 resolution. Buyers who need more compute threads, higher resolution or discrete graphics should consider other platforms.
