What this barebone delivers

The Partaker Mini PC Barebone ships with an Intel Core i7 8th Gen processor, 64 GB of DDR4 memory and a 1 TB SSD in a fanless aluminium chassis. Windows 10 Pro is pre-installed so the system is ready for office tasks, media playback or light development work straight out of the box. Integrated Intel UHD Graphics drives one DisplayPort and one HDMI output at up to 4096 x 2304 resolution. Four USB 3.0 and four USB 2.0 ports plus Gigabit LAN cover everyday connectivity.

Who it suits and who it does not

Silent operation makes it a good fit for noise-sensitive desks, reception areas or digital-signage players that run continuously. The passive design and fixed 64 GB memory mean buyers who need user-upgradable RAM, discrete graphics performance or additional internal drive bays should look at something else. The single M.2 slot and integrated graphics also limit future storage expansion and heavy 3D workloads.

Sustained-load behaviour

Because the full-metal case acts as a large heatsink, the CPU maintains its base frequency for long periods without thermal throttling. Turbo boosts to 4.00 GHz are available for short bursts, but extended compile jobs or video exports will settle at the lower sustained clock. Zero-decibel operation is preserved at all loads since there are no moving parts to spin up.
