Wireless Climate Monitoring Board
The Pimoroni PIM628 Enviro Weather board integrates a Raspberry Pi Pico W aboard for wireless climate and environmental monitoring. It targets makers building remote weather stations or indoor air-quality nodes who want a ready-to-run sensor platform without soldering individual breakouts. The board-only package suits developers who already have enclosures or mounting hardware.
Battery-Ready Edge Device
A JST-PH battery connector accepting up to 5.5 V lets the unit run untethered, while deep-sleep and wake functions driven by the onboard RTC extend deployment time between charges. The Qw/ST connector adds I²C breakouts without extra wiring, and a user POKE button plus reset button give direct control during field testing. No separate microcontroller or radio module is required.
Low-Power Thermal Profile
With the Pico W in deep sleep the board draws minimal current, so heat output stays negligible inside sealed enclosures. The activity LED is PWM-dimmable and only lights while awake, avoiding unwanted thermal load or light pollution at night. The warn LED tied to the RTC provides status indication without active cooling or audible noise.
