Dual Xeon 14-core 2U server

The Supermicro SYS-6028U-TR4T+ is a 2U rackmount server built around two Intel Xeon E5-2660 v4 processors. Each CPU runs at 2.0 GHz with 14 cores and reaches 3.2 GHz turbo. The system ships with 128 GB of DDR4 2400 MHz registered ECC memory across eight 16 GB modules. It targets virtualization hosts, database nodes and compute clusters that need dense CPU cores and redundant power in a standard rack footprint.

Hot-swap bays and rail-less install

Twelve front-access 3.5″ drive trays accept SATA or SAS drives and connect to the MegaRAID 9361-8i controller with 1 GB battery-backed cache. The controller supports RAID 0, 1, 5, 6, 10, 50 and 60. Two hot-swap 1000 W titanium power supplies slide in from the rear. Front bezel and rack rails are not included, so you must source compatible rails for the CSE-829UAC chassis before mounting.

DDR4 capacity ceiling and 10G copper reach

The board provides 24 DIMM slots and supports up to 1.5 TB of DDR4 registered ECC memory, so the installed 128 GB leaves significant headroom. Quad 10GBase-T ports on the Intel X540 add-in card use RJ45 copper cabling with a 100 m distance limit. The dedicated IPMI 2.0 port shares the same copper medium for remote KVM and virtual media. Matrox G200 graphics with 8 MB video memory handle console output only.
