The Synology RS1626xs+ is a 1U rackmount network-attached storage server built around an Intel Xeon D-1726 processor. It arrives fully assembled with 32GB of DDR4 ECC memory, 3.2TB of NVMe cache, and four 12TB enterprise drives for 48TB of raw capacity. This configuration targets businesses that need immediate, high-performance shared storage for virtualization, backup, or intensive file workloads without on-site assembly.

Dual 10GbE LAN and PCIe Gen4 expansion

Two RJ-45 10GbE ports provide high-throughput network connectivity directly from the chassis, while a dedicated out-of-band management port simplifies remote administration. Two USB 3.2 Gen 1 ports allow direct attachment of external drives or peripherals. A PCIe Gen4 x8 slot remains available for additional network cards or storage controllers, and the unit supports expansion to 16 drives with a compatible Synology expansion unit.

Operating limits of the platform

The system operates between 5°C and 35°C with humidity from 8% to 80% RH, and draws power from a 100-240 VAC supply. Memory is configurable to 64GB, capping further RAM upgrades beyond that point. Drive bays are limited to four internally, so capacity growth beyond the installed 48TB requires the external expansion unit. The single 1U form factor also restricts the number of full-height PCIe cards that can be installed.
