32TB Raw Storage with 3.2TB NVMe Cache Headroom
Four 8TB Synology Enterprise drives provide 32TB of raw capacity for primary data, while a pair of 1.6TB NVMe cache modules accelerate random read and write workloads such as virtual machine storage or database indexes. The cache tier absorbs burst I/O so the mechanical drives handle sustained sequential throughput. When the four internal bays are full, a compatible expansion unit can grow the array to 16 drives without migrating data off the appliance.
Pre-Populated Drives and Cache Eliminate Build Time
The unit arrives with all drives, cache modules and memory installed, so deployment begins at the DSM setup wizard instead of a hardware assembly bench. Synology DiskStation Manager supplies snapshot-based protection, Active Backup Suite, virtualization integration and hybrid cloud sync out of the box.
