Compact all-weather PTZ camera

The Ubiquiti Networks UVC-G5-PTZ is a compact, all-weather pan-tilt-zoom network camera built for indoor and outdoor surveillance. It captures 2K (4MP) video at 2688 x 1512 resolution with a 30 fps frame rate. The camera connects and powers via a 10/100 MbE RJ45 port using PoE+ and draws up to 14 W. Smart detections identify people, vehicles and animals while an integrated microphone records audio.

Sustained-operation performance

The IP66-rated housing protects the camera during continuous outdoor exposure in rain, wind and temperature swings. Built-in IR illumination reaches 20 m (65 ft) and a 400 lm LED spotlight enables colour night vision without a separate floodlight. Ultra-low latency PTZ control and 2x optical zoom (3.42–6.85 mm, f/1.85–2.4) maintain responsive tracking during extended monitoring sessions. The 1/2.7" 5 MP CMOS sensor and IR cut filter preserve image quality across day and night cycles.

Deciding specification

The 2x optical zoom range defines how close the camera can magnify distant subjects without digital cropping. Buyers who need tighter fields of view or longer focal lengths for licence-plate capture at distance will find this zoom limit insufficient. Conversely, installers who prioritise wide-area coverage with responsive pan-tilt movement and integrated colour night vision gain a self-contained PoE+ solution that mounts on walls or poles with included hardware.
