Industrial four-port RS-232 adapter

The UOTEK UT-764 installs in a universal 32-bit PCI slot and breaks out one DR44 female connector into four independent RS-232 ports. Each port carries the full modem-control signal set including DCD, DTR, DSR, RTS, CTS and RI. The card targets POS terminals, ATMs, industrial automation systems and integrated equipment that still rely on legacy serial links. It operates across a wide temperature range from -40 to 85 °C.

Replaces single-port or USB serial links

Moving from a single onboard port or a USB-to-serial converter to this four-port card removes the need for multiple adapters and eliminates USB bandwidth contention. The jump is worth it when an application must talk to several modems, printers, scanners or PLCs simultaneously and requires deterministic timing. The board supports both 3.3 V and 5 V PCI signalling so it fits older servers as well as newer PCs without a slot change.

Sustained 921.6 kbps per port under load

Each port can maintain a continuous 921.6 kbps data rate with configurable data bits of 5, 6, 7 or 8, stop bits of 1, 1.5 or 2 and parity options of none, even, odd, space or mark. Hardware RTS/CTS and software XON/XOFF flow control prevent buffer overruns during long transfers. The industrial temperature rating and ESD protection keep the link stable in harsh environments where consumer-grade cards would throttle or fail.
