Capacity and role

The Solidigm D5-P5336 provides 122.88TB of flash storage in a 2.5" U.2 form factor. It targets data-centre workloads that need very high capacity on a PCI-Express 4.0 x4 link. The drive uses 192-layer QLC 3D NAND to reach this density. It is not suited for write-heavy applications that exceed 0.60 DWPD endurance.

Build and connectors

The U.2 connector plugs into a backplane or cable that carries four PCIe 4.0 lanes and supplies up to 30W active power. A metal case weighs 165g and meets 1,000 G shock and 2.17 GRMS operating vibration ratings. No Opal encryption hardware is present, so data-at-rest protection must be handled in software or by the controller. The drive operates from 0°C to 70°C.
