Socket AM4 DDR4 platform

This micro-ATX motherboard uses the AMD B550 chipset and accepts Ryzen 3000, 4000 G-Series, 5000 and 5000 G-Series desktop processors. It provides four 288-pin slots for up to 128GB of DDR4 memory with XMP support. Athlon CPUs are not supported.

LAN and audio utilities

The Realtek ALC897 codec delivers 7.1-channel HD audio through the rear jacks. A Dragon RTL8125BG controller supplies 2.5Gbps LAN, while the bundled Dragon 2.5G LAN Software adds bandwidth control, usage statistics and preset modes for gaming, browsing and streaming.

PCIe 4.0 and M.2 constraints

With Vermeer or Matisse CPUs the primary x16 slot runs at Gen4 x16 and the Hyper M.2 socket reaches 64Gb/s; with Cezanne or Renoir APUs both drop to Gen3 speeds. The second M.2 socket from the chipset is limited to Gen3 x2 or SATA, and the single PCIe x1 slot remains Gen3.
