Socket and chipset

The ASRock H170 Pro4S is an ATX motherboard built around the Intel H170 chipset and the LGA 1151 socket. It accepts Core i7, i5, i3, Pentium and Celeron processors that support Turbo Boost Technology 2.0. The board is not compatible with Intel 8th Gen CPUs. Four 288-pin slots take DDR4 2133 memory in dual-channel mode up to 64 GB.

Expansion and storage layout

Two PCI Express 3.0 x16 slots run at x16 and x4 electrical, while three PCI Express 3.0 x1 slots provide flexible add-in options. Six SATA3 6.0 Gb/s connectors support RAID 0, 1, 5, 10 plus Intel Rapid Storage Technology 14 and Smart Response Technology. One SATA Express 10 Gb/s connector and one Ultra M.2 socket handle M.2 SATA3 or PCIe Gen3 x4 modules up to 32 Gb/s.

Graphics, audio and networking

Onboard video works only with processors that include integrated graphics, driving DVI-D up to 1920x1200 at 60 Hz and HDMI up to 4096x2304 at 24 Hz with HEVC and Quick Sync support. Realtek ALC892 delivers 7.1-channel audio. The Intel I219-V controller provides wired networking.
