Dual-Socket EPYC 9005/9004 Platform

The ASRock Rack TURIN2D16-2T is an EEB server motherboard built for dual AMD EPYC 9005 and 9004 series processors, including 3D V-Cache and 97x4 models. It targets operators who need high core counts and large memory capacity in a single chassis. A BIOS update enables 9005 series support. The board delivers sixteen DDR5 DIMM slots and dual 10GbE networking for dense compute workloads.

Sixteen DDR5 Slots and Flexible MCIO Storage

The board provides sixteen 288-pin DDR5 slots supporting up to 8TB of registered memory at 6000 MT/s. Two MCIO connectors offer either PCIe 5.0 x8 or eight SATA 6Gb/s lanes each, while a third MCIO adds another PCIe 5.0 x8 link. A single M.2 M-key slot accepts 22110 or 2280 drives on PCIe 4.0 x4. This layout frees standard PCIe slots for accelerators while keeping high-speed storage on dedicated lanes.

Five PCIe Slots Balanced Across Two CPUs

Five full-length slots distribute bandwidth between both sockets: two PCIe 5.0 x16 slots with CXL 2.0 on CPU1, and three PCIe 4.0 x16 slots split across CPU0 and CPU1. The Aspeed AST2600 provides basic video output. Intel X710-AT2 drives the dual 10GbE ports. Under sustained load, the 400W TDP ceiling per processor and the EEB form factor require chassis airflow designed for high thermal density.
