The ASRock Rack TURIND8-2L2T is a CEB form-factor server motherboard built around a single Socket SP5 (LGA 6096) for AMD EPYC 9004 and 9005 series processors, including models with 3D V-Cache and the 97x4 series. It targets builders who need high core counts and large memory capacity in a dual-processor footprint without populating a second socket.
The board supports CPUs with a thermal design power up to 400 W and relies on the chassis to provide directed airflow across the VRM heatsinks and eight DDR5 DIMM slots. No active cooling is integrated, so system integrators must ensure sufficient front-to-rear air velocity to keep components within specification under sustained load.
Six expansion slots deliver PCIe 5.0 x16 or x8 lanes with CXL 2.0 support on four of them, while two M.2 sockets accept 2280 or 22110 drives on PCIe 5.0 x4 or SATA. The rear I/O provides two 10 GbE ports via Intel X710-AT2 plus two 1 GbE ports, and a single USB 3.2 Gen 1 header adds two front-panel ports. Builders needing more than ten SATA connections or additional 10 GbE links must add expansion cards.

Open the retention frame, align the gold triangle on the processor with the socket marker, lower the chip straight down without pressure, then close and latch the frame; the step most people rush is verifying the triangle orientation before the CPU touches the contacts.
The RJ45 connectors and controller require no scheduled maintenance; keep the port dust covers on when cables are removed and update the X710-AT2 firmware through the BMC when ASRock Rack releases new images.
The 400 W processor TDP ceiling is reached before the memory subsystem saturates, so total platform power becomes the first constraint under continuous full-load operation.
