Z390 chipset ATX board for 8th and 9th Gen Core
This ASRock motherboard uses the Intel Z390 chipset on an ATX form factor. It accepts 8th and 9th Generation Intel Core processors in the LGA 1151 socket. The board is not backward compatible with earlier LGA 1151 CPUs. It targets builders who want a full-size platform for those specific processor generations.
Straightforward ATX install with lane-sharing notes
Installation follows standard ATX mounting and power-connector routines. The CPU socket is keyed for LGA 1151 (300 Series) only, so older 1151 chips will not seat. Four 288-pin DDR4 slots support dual-channel memory up to 128GB. Builders must plan M.2 and SATA use carefully because M2_1 shares lanes with two SATA3 ports; populating the first M.2 slot disables those two connectors.
PCIe 3.0 and SATA 6.0Gb/s set the throughput ceiling
The board provides three PCI Express 3.0 x16 slots and three x1 slots, with bifurcation options of x16, x8/x8 or x8/x8/x4. M.2 sockets support PCIe 3.0 x4 (32Gb/s) and SATA 6.0Gb/s modules. Six native SATA3 ports plus two ASMedia ports offer RAID 0, 1, 5, 10. All storage and expansion bandwidth is limited to the PCIe 3.0 and SATA 6.0Gb/s standards implemented by the Z390 chipset.
