Ready for vRAN workloads

The ASUS ESR1-511-X4TF server system ships with an Intel Xeon Gold 5403N processor delivering 12 cores and 24 threads. Micron 64GB DDR5 5600MHz ECC modules populate the memory slots for a total of 128GB. A 480GB M.2 SSD provides the boot volume.

Memory and accelerator headroom

The 128GB DDR5 capacity handles typical vRAN processing and control-plane tasks with room for multiple virtualised functions. The integrated Intel vRAN Accelerator ACC100 module offloads baseband computation from the host CPU. Workloads that exceed 128GB of system memory or require additional accelerator cards will need a different platform.

PCIe Gen5 expansion limits

Two full-height half-length slots connect through PCIe Gen5 x16 links — one wired as x8 and one as x16. This layout supports high-throughput NICs or storage adapters but offers no further slots for extra accelerators or graphics cards. The four SFP28 ports with IEEE 1588 and SyncE support handle precise timing for radio synchronization.
